Krishna Poonia who was the gold medalist for discus throw in Commonwealth
games is all prepared as a congress candidate to contest the Rajasthan Assembly
elections. From Sadulpur constituency the papers are filed by Poonia has filed
her papers amid much fanfare.
In front of public she expressed her views and said "I want to offer my services to the people of sadulpur with my whole heart, the way I have excelled in sports, I want to give my hundred percent for these people”.
"I will clear the crime from this area, and want to work hard to provide better infrastructure and I would like to provide better facilities to the sportspersons that will help them to built their career in their respective fields”, she asserted.
Deepender Hooda congress leader said that Rahul Gandhi chose her for this role as she is the appropriate candidate and I am sure she will do very well here.
Sadulpur was a Congress stronghold until Kamla Kaswan, the wife of MP Ram Singh Kaswan, turned it around into a BJP seat. With Krishna Poonia the Congress is taking a shot, hoping to win it back from the BJP revealed by the sources of Rajasthan News.
While Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore may have been reserved by the BJP for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as his name did not figure in BJP's ticket list for assembly polls, Poonia may give a tough competition to the Opposition's sitting MLA Kamla Kaswan.
