Mahatma Gandhi’s Ashram Converted into ‘Home Stay’ for Tourists

When Mahatma Gandhi returned from South Africa, after a month he set up an Ashram to launch Satyagraha Movement that was named as “Kochrab Ashram”. It was converted and developed as a “Home Stay” for tourists; yet no bookings have been made despite of being a holiday season revealed by few officials there.
Sources from Ahmadabad News even revealed that officials in the Ashram received several enquiries from people but none of them prefer to make bookings with 1000 Rs per day offer.

On the occasion of 144^th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi a package named “Live Gandhi for a while” has been launched by having a tie up between the Vidyapith University of Gujarat set up by Gandhi, and with travel operator Maroon Migrates. This Ashram provided the facility of stay for the tourists for 11 days maximum and also gave them the opportunity to practice the 11 vows by Mahatma Gandhi so that they can get a break from routine life.

The vows are Satya (truth), Bramhacharya (chastity), Ahimsa (non-violence), Ashteya (non-stealing), Aparigraha (non-possession), Sharirshrama (physical labour), Aswada (control of palate), Sarvatra Bhayavrajana (fearlessness), Sarva Dharma Samantva (religious equality), Swadeshi (use of local made goods) and Sparshbhavna (untouchability).

Well it depends on the choice of a person that which vow does he/she wants to practice. There is no need for them to stay separately if specifically they want to practice chastity. No hard and fast rule for this. This is something that has to come from within. They can stay together with others and can practice their choice of vow. Tours for slums are also done to practice Untouchability and fearlessness.

Deepender Hooda congress leader said that Rahul Gandhi chose her for this role as she is the appropriate candidate and I am sure she will do very well here.

Sadulpur was a Congress stronghold until Kamla Kaswan, the wife of MP Ram Singh Kaswan, turned it around into a BJP seat. With Krishna Poonia the Congress is taking a shot, hoping to win it back from the BJP revealed by the sources of Rajasthan News.

While Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore may have been reserved by the BJP for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as his name did not figure in BJP's ticket list for assembly polls, Poonia may give a tough competition to the Opposition's sitting MLA Kamla Kaswan.
